Biden Beauty came and left

There's this new line called Biden beauty. At the moment they have an array of blue products that are mock beauty blenders, tote bags and hoodies.

Apparently 100% of the proceeds are donated to the Democratic National Committee which will now aid the Biden campaign but in no way is in relation to the vice president. It seems as if this whole brand is to entice the Gen Z voters to go blue come election day. The account goes in with loads of talented blue eyeshadow looks on a variety of people to appear more welcoming. Also, Gen Z has pretty much dominated beauty. Morphe has created a line for them, James Charles at age 19 is the number one youtube beauty guru, and they dominate social media at the moment (i.e tiktok). It's safe to say they hold the cards on restructuring our world at the moment.

In Biden beauty's first Ig post the caption stated

“Voting is crucial and statistics show that Gen Z (those born between 1996 and 2015) can make or break this election. For 2020, Pew Research projects one out of ten eligible voters will represent Gen Z, which will compose 24 million potential voters. But among eligible Gen Z voters from the 2019 primaries, data showed only 30% voted, a historically low number.”

Not that beauty hasn't become more inclusive but I feel slimy. I'm a millennial so this whole brigade isn't to get my attention but it does make me wonder what's going on in beauty. Like, with the large number of celebs making a beauty brand every week (because of Kylie's billionaire status and Rihanna's major successes with Fenty.) it pisses me off. There's no love behind these brands its just to push their agenda wherever it may be either to make a quick buck or push to to the polls.

This election will be one for the books and it's shoved down our throats with celebrities, commercials tictok instagram and on tv so why do we need it in beauty too? It does make me question where we're at as a society if there's a campaign encouraging us to "vote beautifully" by purchasing a beauty blender. Will this make people go to the polls and vote blue?

As of October 14 Biden Beauty sold the last bit of their inventory and created the brand to merge beauty and politics. The beauty brand was created under @verygoodlight and they provide masculine beauty tips. I guess that's why spongers were the only parts of beauty created. The brand seemed to have good intentions to build voting awareness but I still don't get how beauty is political. The products sold do not reflect any on the sort. It seemed to have just been made to be pushed out. I think just selling hoodies would've been easier than this.

I guess voting Biden would've been beautiful but I don't think he has made an effort to show this nor has this brand. Like thy did a pretty crap job to relate how his policies will enforce beauty and how their products will too. All in all I'm happy this crap was dismissed. Like this upcoming election I intend on voting (not interested in TRUMP) but this brand didn't encourage me to.
